No Prep Sub Plans: Goggles

When I was teaching in the classroom, being out was never easy. And don’t get me started on when my kids came home with a bug. It’s hard being out of the classroom, but it’s even harder when you don’t have a plan.

That’s why I created these NO PREP Sub Plans. I wanted my students to have meaningful instruction and a little fun even when I couldn’t be there.

How it worked:

• I wrote my own sub plans with my usual classroom-specific notes.

• Instead of spending hours typing out detailed activity instructions, I plugged in “see math lesson” or “see word work lesson” and let these ready-to-go materials do the heavy lifting.

• I laid the lessons out on my desk so the sub could grab and go without searching for anything.

I even included:

• A sample page showing completed activities so the sub knew what “finished” looked like.

• Answer keys to keep things smooth.

Whether I was out for a day or unexpectedly out for the week, these plans kept learning on track without the late-night scramble to prep.
